Ufuk and Gent would like to welcome you to Akwa Marina.
If this is your first visit with us, please read the whole page as there are important information on this page.

Our yacht "iPEK" is docked at SLIP# 64 on D Dock (last boat):
Akwa Marina Yacht Club
95 Centenary Avenue, Laconia, New Hampshire

Our typical relaxing day consist of laying down at the pool and take the (4 person) JetBoat out as needed (fast and bumpy). Marina has a hot tub and a heated swimming pool. Anyting made of glass or smoking are not allowed at the pool area or at the beach, but both are ok where the barbeque area is (grassed area in the front).

If we go out to lake, we leave around 10am  with the yacht and come back time is usually around sunset, so unless we discuss in advance this is a full day event. If we go out with the yacht, do not expect to comeback before sunset. Please read the boating rules below for more info.

Boating Rules of "iPEK"

During day time, walking on the docks (to get to the boats) will be WET and you will need to keep your balance, so choosing proper shoes are important. Remember, this is not a cruise ship, you will hold rails and make some small jumps.

We do not wear regular shoes on the boat as it gets wet and dirty (keeping the boat clean is usually a full time job), so please take off your shoes as you are getting aboard. We suggest bringing non-marking boat shoes, sandals, sneakers or you can stay barefoot.

We have plenty type II life jackets for adults (8 on the bridge and 4 under the stateroom bed), 4 for youth size (in the closet on the left as you enter the cabin), and 1 for little kid (under the seat storage in the bridge) that will fit under the age of 5 but if you have something more comfortable (usually type III) bring that as it is required to be worn all the time for kids under 5 when they are outside of the cabin. Sports Authority has good selection at reasonable prices for kids under the age of 5. If you do not know how to swim, you might want to wear a life jacket.

We will swim and sunbath so do not forget the swimming gear, lake water is usually 70 to 80 degrees in July & August.

The bathrooms are available at the club (ask me the code for doors), and try to utilize those and not the one of the boat specially when we are docked (as there is limited tank capacity which needs to be pumped out).

When we are leaving the dock and coming back in, please keep all your hands inside the boat. Do not try to help by pushing against the poles. It is extreamly dangerous and the boat is made to handle such pressures. It makes it harder for the captain when everybody is trying to help.

While we are at cruising speed, all kids should be sitting and not moving around as we do not want anybody running over board.

While on the lake, we encourage not to smoke as this is a gas vessel as we do not want to blow up. If you have to, please smoke at the forward section of the boat and use an empty bottle or can to keep your butts.

It is illegal to litter on the water, so all trash has to be kept inside the boat, please use the trash bags we have.

Once we are on the lake, there are no stores around, so bring whatever you feel necessary but we will have fridge full of drinks and food. If you bring food, please choose non messy ones and try not to eat in the cabin as it is easier to clean outside.

No pets are allowed to run on the club grounds.
